In what is surely just the beginning of a disturbing trend, Isabel came home with a newfangled word that all the kids are saying but of which I've never heard. Apparently among Isabel's little friends at our local daycare, it is all the rage to say the word "barticle" when someone farts. As in, "Something smells. Who barticled?" Or if you're the perpetrator, you could simply announce "barticle" and everyone will take a few steps away from you. But it's not just for the kids; I'm sure it will catch on at the classiest of events... "Excuse me, Madame Secretary, I just barticled."
