It's been far too long since my last blog post. I refuse to be held fully responsible for that, though; at least part of the blame lies with Jerry Seinfeld. And a bad lightning storm. And UFOs (ok, that one might be stretching it).
The truth of the matter is that we've had a busy month. We had all kinds of visitors over 4th of July weekend, each of which was intent on spoiling Isabel. We saw Jerry Seinfeld in concert, watched Superman Returns, played bocce ball, attended a parade, and lit sparklers. We went to a surprise birthday party, a regular birthday party, a cookout, and a photo shoot. Am I off the hook yet?
And without further ado, I give you... posts.

Stars and Stripes
4th of July weekend was great! Isabel got to show off all her new tricks (rolling! laughing! eating her own feet!) for Kyle's parents and my Dad and Pam, all of whom visited that weekend. It was also fun for Kyle and I because we got to get out a bit and go see Seinfeld and Superman. We also did the traditional holiday things like cooking out, playing with fireworks (or rather their wimpy cousin, the sparkler), and participating in wholesome family fun like bocce ball and boardgames. Holy shit, when did I start bragging about "wholesome family fun"??? Before you hip cats judge me uncool, just take one look at Isabel's big brown eyes and tell me you wouldn't sing kumbaya for her!
Oh, and check out her patriotic outfit! I have truly gone around the bend as far as baby clothes go. What's next, a Columbus Day hat? Labor Day socks?
Here's one of us at the Westerville 4th of July Parade, or as I like to call it, the Commercial Calvacade. 95% of the "floats" involved a local business person's car with their company logo painted on it. The other 5% was nice - high school marching bands, boy and girl scouts, and other... sigh... wholesome family fun.
